...plus anonymity is for pussies.

So if I've seen your band in the last 3 months, and you give a rats ass what I think, then throw your name in the pot. I'll give you an honest critique. It will be put forth in a constructive criticsm manner, so if you ask, don't get all huffy puffy about the answer if you don't like what I have to say.

That being said, ask and ye shall receive.

If you want a critique on an old show, then specify that, and I'll give it to ya.

Drunkn' Assumption - I think the band overall isn't terrible. I was really proud of you guys the other night for the professionalism you showed on a pain in the butt night.

I am a big fan of good hard punk. I think you guys fit pretty well into that category. That being said, I'd like to see DA do something different from what punk rock just does. If that makes sense. The band is tight, I just think that you guys have the potential to be a lot more. I think you guys would do really well to find "that little thing" that would separate you from the crowd. Singer has a couple of pitch things here and there, but only sometimes does it matter because the music doesn't call for perfect pitch all the time.

I would say that if I had a show that I knew there were going to be 300 people at, I would have DA on it because I know that the crowd would be entertained. But if I had a show in which I had to bring the three best bands I knew in front of labels/agents/management for showcase, I wouldn't put them in that top three at this point.

The other night wasn't a pain in the butt, it was Strung Out!! But, I know what you mean, it was a little hectic. We've always been a very slow working band, so improvment seems to take forever as well as song writing. We learned from the get go that professionalism can be just as important as talent when dealing with people that are in this business. It's one of those things where I like where I'm at with the guys I'm playing with, but sometimes I wish we'd move along at a faster pace. These guys have been my best friends my whole life, so I'd rather be patient than be unhappy with my situation even if the songs are being written faster/we're playing more shows/doing bigger events. I know that sounds lame since I would love a career as a bass player, but happiness is key. Bottom line: I have had the most fun of my fucking life with this so far, and I don't see it changing anytime soon. Thanks for the opinion B-dog.

Thats all that matters, really. As long as you're getting out of it what you want, then thats all that matters. Even when I am doing these little opinion things on bands, I am coming at it from the standpoint of, if you want to come up and make a name for yourself quickly, thats the way I think it needs to be done.

At the end of the day, we all have 3 - 6 egos/schedules/attitudes/agendas to work with.

Hey alexis, welcome to the board. What band do you play in?
